A rumor that spread - Facebook was allegedly shutting down its service on March 15. The reason told was CEO Mark Zuckerberg “wants his old life back” and he is ready to “put an end to all the madness.”
CNN and an official confirmation from Facebook’s Director of Corporate Communications Larry Yu conveyed that the rumor is completely false.
After being asked if it was true that Facebook would be severing ties with the world, he responded negative.
“We didn’t get the memo about shutting down and there’s lots to do, so we’ll just keep cranking away like always,” he added.
Facebook is a company worth billions of dollars. It recently received $450 million from Goldman Sachs and $50 million from Russian investment firm Digital Sky Technologies. Its co-founder, Mark Zuckerberg, is the youngest billionaire to date.
