Google’s copying accusation against Microsoft (BING) is silly !

Analysts stated that they find Google’s copying accusation against Microsoft is silly.

Commented as - Even if Microsoft did copy Google’s search results, Bing engineers didn’t ape Google’s algorithms to produce their search results.

Microsoft wouldn’t want to have a search engine that acts just like their competition. Reverse-engineering Google’s algorithm through copied results is impossible.

This week Google announced that their internal investigations proved that Microsoft collected data about users’ Google search queries and results with the use of Bing toolbar and Internet Explorer browser.

Google said that the said practice is cheating.

Google is not pressing for any legal actions for now but they are asking Microsoft to stop the practice.
On the other hand, Microsoft answered that users allowed them to collect the data and that information is just one of the factors it uses to refine their search results.

Microsoft downplayed the accusations as something silly.

Now search industry experts are saying that at the end of the day, Microsoft is the winner here as Google has a hard time getting the sympathy from industry executives and analysts. They find it inappropriate for Google to make the accusations and portray their competitor in a bad way.

Microsoft on the whole explained that the data collected was for analysis for which users accepted indirectly.
