TheBackTrack 5,code named as “Revolution” was released on May 10th 2011.BackTrack 5-The latest penetration distribution has modified packages, kernel configuration,scripts and patches which had several bugs in its previous versions.

It has been built based on Lucid Ubuntu, Linux Kernel 2.6.38. It comes in both GNOME and KDE platforms.
